Quick answer: Jeju International Airport handled 3,031,529 international passengers by 10 October 2026, already above its 2025 full-year total, Korea Airports Corporation says, while domestic visitors fell. Explera DMC Korea plans Jeju programmes for groups flying in direct, without a connection through Seoul.
What are the new Jeju figures?
According to Korea Airports Corporation, reported by Seoul Economic Daily on 16 October 2026, Jeju International Airport handled 3,031,529 international passengers by 10 October, above the 3,029,280 for all of 2025. It is the second record year running.
From January to September, passengers from Taiwan rose 60.1% to 495,000, from Japan 59.6% to 216,000 and from Singapore 65.1% to 126,000, while China, including Hong Kong and Macao, rose 17.3% to 2,053,936. Domestic tourists went the other way: 442,145 from 1 to 14 October, down 14.1%, according to the Jeju Tourism Association.
What does it mean for groups?
- Direct is now a real option. From markets with direct flights, a group can start or end in Jeju without connecting through Seoul.
- An open-jaw saves a day. Fly into Jeju, finish in Seoul or Busan, or the reverse, and skip a domestic leg.
- Guides in the group's language. With more Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese visitors, we confirm language guides early.
- Check the season. International traffic is up while domestic demand dips, so availability varies by week; we check before quoting.
How we plan a Jeju-first programme
- Arrival day. Hotel in Jeju City or Jungmun depending on the flight time and the next day's route.
- East and west. Seongsan and the eastern coast one day, the western coast and Hallasan foothills the next.
- Onward. A short domestic flight to Seoul or Busan for the second half, or home from Jeju.
